MEET KATHIE

Hi, I’m Kathie.

I’m deeply sorry for the circumstances that bring you here, but I want you to know this: your grief is welcome here. Whether you're navigating the loss of a loved one, the end of a relationship, a job, a move, or even a change you chose and were excited about — grief is part of the journey. In fact, there are over 43 different types of loss, including: the loss of trust, infertility, loss of health, and so many more. Grief is tied to change, and with change, even joyful change, comes loss.

It’s an honour to serve you and to hold space for your needs during this tender time.

I live in the balance of grief and joy every day — sometimes even in the same moment. It may sound impossible, but joy and sadness can coexist, just as love and loss often do.

Like you, I’ve faced many losses in my life. It’s something all humans share, yet it can feel so isolating. That’s why I’m here — to remind you that you’re not alone.

I’m a bestselling author, speaker, end-of-life doula, and grief coach. My mission is to guide you through the complexities of living, grieving, and dying with compassion, dignity, and grace. Whether you’re seeking support in the midst of a loss, preparing for life’s inevitable transitions, or simply trying to make sense of it all, my role is to provide a steady presence and a safe space for you to explore your feelings without judgment.

Through my writing, speaking, group, and one-on-one work, I strive to empower others to navigate their unique paths — making choices that honour your wishes, relationships, and personal journeys.

GRIEF COACHING

No one is the same after a significant emotional loss. You might feel ready to make some changes and need some help getting started. Often, we feel ready in our heads, but not sure if we are ready in our hearts. What you know is you need to make a change. That change is taking one step towards fully living a life of passion and purpose.

PUBLIC SPEAKING

Let's talk about the uncomfortable things so we can get comfortable. Topics include grief and loss, deaht and dying, planning for end of life, getting real about the inevitable and many other grief related topics, many of which I also explore in my book 'The Hardest, Not The Worst Year'.

END OF LIFE DOULA

As an EOL doula I will provide a holistic, family centred approach that is non-medical. My key role is to provide an opportunity to talk openly and honestly about the dying process. Together we can develop a plan for how you want your environment to be as you transition and work to create a space that looks, feels, sounds and smells the way you want.

TESTIMONIALS

& reviews

I just wanted to thank you for your book and your course I just finished. In the past six weeks I have grown and started processing my grief over the loss of my husband this past January. I was stuck in my grief and I didn’t know how to proceed forward with my new point in my life. I now have the tools I need to go forward with my life and my grief that is now part of me. That’s not a bad thing because grief is just love with no place to go.
