GRIEF

over dinner

Elegant table setting

VIRTUAL

event

Grief Over Dinner is a virtual space where we gather as we are — no pretending, no need to perform, no pressure to be anything other than who we are in this moment. Bring your favourite snack and beverage, wear whatever is comfortable and bring an item that means something special to share about your loved one.

Here, we sit together in the rawness of grief, in the depth of our stories, and in the quiet spaces between words. This is a place of reflection, learning, and growth — a place where grief is not something to be fixed or hidden, but rather honored, embraced, and understood. Judgment has no seat at this table. Instead, we hold space for one another with compassion, deep connection, and authentic expression.

In the company of strangers, we find the safety of shared experiences. Here, we are met with understanding, not pity — with open hearts, not discomfort. We hold space for one another without judgment, allowing grief to be witnessed in all its forms. And in doing so, we form deep, meaningful connections; ones woven through love, loss, and the unspoken knowing that we are not alone.

We also invite your loved ones into the room through the stories you share. We speak their names, get to know who they were, and we honour their presence in your life. Because here, love and memory live on — not in whispers, but in the fullness of their story. Whether we speak or simply listen, whether we cry, laugh, or sit in silence, we do so together — because grief, like love, deserves to be witnessed.

KATHIE POWELL

Kathie Powell is a mother, grandmother, griever, author, grief educator/coach, and an end-of-life-doula who wrote The Hardest, Not The Worst Year because, after losing her husband, she

couldn't find a book like it. By sharing her story, she hopes to support those who are grieving or anyone who is simply curious about grief.

Kathie sits comfortably on a wine-colored couch, smiling, inviting.
